Tonight while in This Is Vegas online casino, I played one of my favorite table games, Red Dog. This game resembles the relationship with most pets, you love then even when you hate them.

The goal of Red Dog is to wager on the chance that a third card is going to fall between the first two cards. If the card falls between them the player wins.

The ace is played high and suits are irrelevant. The game is played with a standard 52 card deck and is reshuffled between each game.

To play, the player chooses an amount to ante. The ante on this table are from $1.00 to $100.00 per hand. Once the ante is placed two cards are dealt.

If the cards are consecutive, it is a tie. The ante is returned and the hand is over. If the first two cards are equal, a third card is drawn.

If the third card matches the first two, the player wins 11 to 1 on their original bet. If it does not match, the hand is considered a tie and the ante is returned to the player.

If the players two cards are neither consecutive or equal, then the player can raise their ante based on the likelihood of the third card falling between the first two. The player can also call, which would not put any other wagers at risk.

I suggest learning the pay table. Raising may seem like the right choice for some spreads, but the payout is not worth it. Obviously, if a player has an A and a 2, raising is a must.

Tonight Red Dog took a bite that may not be so easy to forget. Since this game is mostly luck and not skill, tonight was not my night. However, forgive and forget when it comes to man’s best friend.
